CORDES JUNCTION FAMILY DOLLAR STORE AIMS FOR JULY 31 OPENING
Cordes Junction's newest business, a Family Dollar store, is shooting for a July 31 opening date.
"We're trying to be ready to open then," project manager Mike Huesman said on Thursday. "We
plan to start stocking on July 21. We need a certificate of occupancy from the county."
ARCOSANTI ANNUAL ITALIAN NIGHT JUNE 21
Arcosanti Annual Italian Night is Saturday, June 21, with Commedia dell'arte performance continuous throughout the evening. Event includes raffle for 1 original Soleri drawing and 5 limited-edition prints. $50 includes tour, dinner, show and 1 raffle ticket. PRESCOTT VALLEY WEEKEND EVENTS!
Horseshoe tournament is Saturday
Participate in the third annual Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday, July 19. Check in at 8 a.m. for the competition that begins at 8:30 a.m. at the American Legion Park at 8569 E. Yavapai Road, Prescott Valley. There will be a blind draw for a team of two and the cost is $10 for each member.
Awards are as follows: first place - $100, second place - $50 and third place $25. For more information, call Bob Davis at 928-277-4668.
'Menopause' comedy starts Friday
The Blue Rose Heritage and Culture Center presents a comedy by Terry Earp titled Menopause, the Comedy, with performances Fridays and Saturdays, July 18 and 19, 25 and 26, at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, July 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.; and Thursday, July 24, at 6 p.m.

Volunteer Fair July 30
The town will host a Volunteer Fair from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, at the Prescott Valley Library Crystal Room, 7601 E. Civic Circle.
Prescott Valley features more than 250 active volunteers. Most jobs offer a flexible schedule and don't require a large time investment.
Participants may enjoy light refreshments, door prizes and giveaways.

PAGE SPRINGS CELLARS HOSTS 5TH ANNUAL CORK BOAT RACE
On Saturday, July 19, Page Springs Cellars will host its 5th annual Cork Boat Race at their vineyard and winery.
The event, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., takes place along the banks of Oak Creek and always includes music, a themed menu, refreshing wine and wine "cocktail" creations. The event draws people from all across the state to view and compete in the races.
